Flaim and Corbo, whose business is based in Leonia, N.J., jumped at the chance to help RESA NJ give back to the wider community through the show house event. “This is a great way to bring exposure to RESA, to highlight the staging industry and demonstrate how proper real estate staging can help sell a home, and do a good deed at the same time,” said Flaim, who explained that the suggested five dollar entrance fee will be donated to Morris Habitat for Humanity, the Watchung Borough PTO and the Watchung Education Foundation.
Corbo added that the participating real estate stagers will be staging and decorating Gallowae Manor, a 7,200 square-foot mansion that boasts a 700-bottle wine cellar, hand-carved mahogany front door and a media room among other luxurious amenities. Corbo and her partner will create a girl’s nursery in a bedroom located off the master bedroom, and they will stage the impressive kitchen.
“Although this home is not yet occupied, this project poses some interesting challenges,” said Corbo. Those challenges include coordinating their spaces with those of the other stagers to create a cohesive flow throughout the house; and finding and using the right accessories that best reflect its quality and stature.
Gallowae Manor, located at 105 Gallowae in Watchung, opens to the public on Saturday, June 6 and may be viewed through June 21. Visitors may tour the home and see the professional stagers’ handiwork from 12:00 noon until 3:00 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flaim and Corbo, who also provide organizing services, will give a short seminar entitled, “Staying Organized When You’re on the Move” on Thursday, June 11 at 1:00 p.m. For more information about the June Bloom event, visit www.junebloomshowhouse.com.
